OEDIPUS ALPHA was a piece that first developed in 1999 when Ryan was working at The Lost Colony, America's longest running outdoor drama. It was on Roanoke Island that Ryan first got to bring the OEDIPUS ALPHA story to life. Chosen as one of three staged professional productions outside of the summer's main attraction, Paul Green's The Lost Colony, OEDIPUS ALPHA was portrayed by young, up-and-coming actors and dancers with stage combat, choreography, set design and costuming provided by a solid group of talented theatre-folk. Over the years, the show has been performed in many varying venues with a similarly wide range of performers. Most recently, in the Summer of 2011, OEDIPUS ALPHA was performed outdoors at a youth camp, Camp Winnebago of Maine. This performance of dedicated teens truly showed that the story's message and exciting tie to our rich human drama makes it a great educational experience, as well. |
